Student Health Services’ practitioners can perform the following in-office tests, if deemed medically necessary. Results are available in 15-20 minutes.
- Strep
- Pregnancy
- Blood glucose
- Urine dipstick
- Mononucleosis
- HIV
When complex laboratory testing is deemed necessary by the Student Health Services’ practitioner, blood or urine will be collected in the office and sent to one of the following off-campus laboratories, depending on the student’s health insurance plan:
- Quest Diagnostics
- Lab Corp
The student’s health insurance information will be provided to the Laboratory. Students are responsible for costs not covered by their health insurance plan.
In addition, the New Jersey State Laboratory is used for STD screening tests for chlamydia (urine), gonorrhea (urine), syphilis (blood draw), and trichomonas (urine). These tests are performed confidentially and billed to Student Health Services. Students pay for these tests at the time of their visit. Cost information can be found at https://health.tcnj.edu/cost/ .
PLEASE NOTE: Our office is not a “drawing station” for laboratory tests ordered by outside practitioners. To locate the nearest Lab Corp patient services’ center, click HERE.
