On-Campus COVID-19 Testing Information and FAQs

Registering with Bergen New Bridge

Students, faculty, and staff who have previously registered with Bergen New Bridge do not have to re-register for testing. Only those new to the Bergen New Bridge system need to register before scheduling an appointment to be tested. Register now.

You must use your TCNJ email address when registering and in all communications with the company. You must also provide your first name (not your preferred name or nickname), last name, date of birth, and current insurance information.

Bergen New Bridge will bill your personal health insurance plan for the cost of testing. Whatever cost is not paid by your insurance plan will be paid by TCNJ, but the bill must go through your health insurance plan first.

Testing Location

The testing site is located in the Decker Hall Social Space. There are directional signs posted in the Decker Hall area; please enter using the back door. Remember to bring your TCNJ ID card to access the building and wear a mask. You must make an appointment to be tested.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have COVID-like symptoms and want to be tested?

  • Schedule a test at the TCNJ testing site. If you are sick and at home, please don’t come to campus to be tested. See options below.
  • Schedule a test at an off-campus testing facility (your local urgent care office, and pharmacies, such as Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS & Robbins, may offer testing).
  • Use an at-home COVID-19 self test kit, available for purchase at pharmacies (always keep a few on hand in case you need them), the TCNJ Bookstore, and in Student Health Services.

Isolate yourself from others. If you test negative but continue to feel ill, test again in 24-48 hours.  Refer to the TCNJ Quarantine & Isolation Guidelines. Seek medical attention as needed. Students can schedule an appointment in Student Health Services via the portal, OWL, or by calling (609) 771-2889. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., M-F.

How quickly do I receive my results from the TCNJ covid testing site in Decker, and how do I get them?

Your results will be sent to your TCNJ email address and texted to the mobile number provided at registration within three hours, on average. Results may be delayed on occasion. TCNJ community members who test positive will also receive a phone call to the number they provided at registration.

I was tested off campus (or at home using a COVID-19 self-test). What should I do if my result was positive?

Students: Report your positive test in the Roar app module, “Self-Report Your Positive COVID-19 Test”, and isolate yourself from others.  A COVID Outreach Team member will contact you with information during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., M-F).

Employees: Report your positive test in the Roar app module, “Self-Report Your Positive COVID-19 Test”, isolate, and email your test results to Human Resources at covid-documentation-group@tcnj.edu. An HR staff member will contact you with information during business hours (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, M-F).
